Doubling Down on Building Your Brand – Sharing Perspective and Being Authentic

Let’s face it, the COVID-19 pandemic has been arguably very hard on small businesses. However, this is not the time to slow down on gaining new leads and revenue streams. Many businesses have found creative ways to survive and thrive during these tough times. If we’ve learned one thing, it’s that now is the perfect opportunity to focus on transformation and repositioning your strategy.

Sharing your perspective and being authentic is one of the most important attributes to apply to your business when it comes to building a brand, especially now. This can easily apply to content marketing – the basic idea is that you want to create content as an individual and share your story. There is only one you! Many tend to forget that their story is interesting or others want to hear about them – but they do, don’t underestimate that.

When writing your own personal content you need to find your niche. If you’re more of a writer, share more thought out written content on your pages. However, this isn’t the only road to take. Video content performs extremely well, if you’re more confident and comfortable in front of a camera that pre-recorded or live content. If you’d rather talk on a microphone without being in front of the camera, try a podcast! There’s numerous different formats to choose from, pick one that’s comfortable and roll with it!

Now it’s time to find your audience, if your followers are only on Facebook and you’re posting on LinkedIn you’re going to miss your reach. Sometimes it’s not that simple – usually posting across different platforms is the best solution. You never know when your content is going to take off on a certain network.

Ready to get started? Don’t overthink it! This can often be one of the biggest issues for content writers. Once you get yourself over the hump of creating your own content, you’ll be set. Trying new things might sound scary, but if one attempt doesn’t work – try something new tomorrow.

This isn’t a game, you cannot fail just because you’ve had one bad post, you will only fail if you have zero posts. So keep trying and work on receiving those great results. Some posts will get a great response, some will flop, it’s all just a learning lesson we must embrace. If you’re ready to take the leap, others will be ready to read your content!
