We love playing around with web design and seeing what cool effects we can create to make our clients’ websites stand out. At the same time, we’re always searching for inspiration that can help us out.
There are tons of effects out there, but here are a few of our favorites to share. And, hey, if they look cool to you just remember we can create these for your site!
1. Color Cursor
As Ceremony Coffee’s site background fades from one color to another in a swirling gradient, its cursor follows suit. This cool effect emphasizes the importance of the color concept in the brand’s campaign and gives users a cool experience when visiting the site. It’s a small effect but it might just keep them coming back for more.
2. Drag to Navigate
Whoa. Dramatic music plays in the background. A pair of hands gently folds a paper airplane with rustling sound effects. And simple copy tells you exactly what Inculerate does (they’re an investment company in Silicon Valley). As you drag to fold the airplane, you learn more and more about the company. The overall effect is just beautiful.
3. MicroInteractions
Every single element on InSymbiosis‘s website responds to what your mouse does. Hover over the letters and they bounce and change colors. Hover over a cell and it wiggles. Scroll at any speed and the circular “MENU” label with spin at that same speed. It’s something you really have to experience for yourself, but each time on the site seems to reveal a new microinteraction better than the last.
