I recently came across this powerful article. The article outlines how to successful market yourself or your company.
Today consumers are bombarded with choices. Companies shoving advertisements down your throat, forcing you to digest their message. The companies that are cutting through the clutter, are the ones who are telling a story. They are adding value to our lives and creating a two-way conversation with their audience. People don’t want a company to constantly self-promote and force their products into your thoughts; rather they are looking to engage in conversation in order to gain knowledge, information and value in their every day lives. My favorite analogy in the article is comparing social media to a cocktail party. While at a cocktail party do you constantly talk about yourself or do you engage in conversation?
