Clear the Clutter- Boosting Your Online Reach with Cows

No matter what industry you speak to online, your audience will always have a case of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). What does this mean? The average person is exposed to 3,000 marketing messages a day, which means that if your post isn’t attention grabbing they’ll probably just keep scrolling.

Look, we’ve all been there. You haven’t had any new likes in a while, twelve people viewed your last update, and the only person liking your posts is your mom. That’s the perfect time to shake things up!

As the director of sales and online marketing, I understand it’s hard to captivate an online audience. There are days when I spend hours crafting the perfect tweet, and am still left with no “favorites.”

What’s the cure for audience ADD? Crawl out of your social media comfort zone! In search of a reason to post catchy content HeyNow! Media decided to play-off the unofficial Chik-Fil-A holiday, “Cow Appreciation Day.” We teamed up with Butcher & the Brewer to promote this holiday on our own terms, appreciating cows the only way foodies can, by eating them.

So, to share the appreciation of cows with the masses, we ran a social media contest via our Facebook page where each time a fan liked, commented, or shared the “Cow Appreciation Day” post they were entered to win a $50 gift certificate to Butcher & the Brewer. Screenshot 2015-07-20 10.28.08 We ended up gaining 4 new page likes in 3 hours and boosted our average daily reach by 32 percent. We also managed to give Kelly Millet, the winner of the contest, the beefiest day ever! #CowAppreciationDay (Hey Now! style).
