Doubling Down on Building Your Brand – Nurturing Relationships

Let’s face it, the COVID-19 pandemic has been arguably very hard on small businesses. However, this is not the time to slow down on gaining new leads and revenue streams. Many businesses have found creative ways to survive and thrive during these tough times. If we’ve learned one thing, it’s that now is the perfect opportunity to focus on transformation and repositioning your strategy.

Nurturing relationships is extremely important while sales cycles are slow and customers are not in the position to buy. You want to always maintain those connections with past and present clients by checking in occasionally, especially during crazy times like these. Don’t underestimate the value of picking up the phone and asking “How is business?” Or “How are things?”

We’ve had individuals and companies we’ve worked with past and presently do this for us, as well as helped our clients and colleagues achieve this goal. Whether it just brings a smile to their face, rebuilds a work relationship, or makes a current relationship stronger – the results are always positive. With the current events taking place this summer, it’s important to stay in touch and see how people are doing. Don’t forget that genuinely caring goes a long way.

Providing status updates on your business is another great way to nurture relationships. Believe it or not, people want to know how you’re doing. So at the same time you’re asking others, provide status updates on successes and struggles. This allows people to support you every step of the way – but you have to remember, they can only do this when you’re sharing.

Lastly, have you tried reaching out to old friends, colleagues, and connections? Now is a great time to reconnect and use everything going on as a conversation platform. Don’t be afraid to message, comment or send out a phone call to stir back up the pot in new ways. It’s never a bad time, and truly – now is an especially great time. There’s lots to talk about and you want to see how those individuals are hanging in there. Who knows, maybe they need help from someone with your skill set!
